Korumburra’s growing skate community is set to take the sport to the next level with the completion of a new skate park at the Korumburra Railway Precinct.
Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh today joined local celebrations to officially open the new skate park, backed by a $100,000 Allan Labor Government investment.
Informed by community consultation, the new skate park comes complete with transition and bank areas, as well as ride-on rails from old railway tracks. In addition, the park features a series of quarter pipes and kerbs, a manual pad, and mellow bank.
Local skateboarders, scooter riders, BMXers, and more now have a great new base to test their skills at a venue that caters for beginners to intermediate.
With skateboarding now an Olympic sport, it’s the perfect venue for recreational skating and development programs for all ages and breathes new life into youth culture in Korumburra.
